Beach Safari In Kenya

Old Town Mombasa

Beach Safari in Kenya can not be complete without a visit to Mombasa old town.

Old town Mombasa is reminiscent of the days when the Portuguese were on the throne. In this side of town, you will find that that the buildings have that Arabian feel to them.

Apparently, the houses are no more than 100 years old, but they do have that ancient touch to them.

One of the more noticeable things about the buildings is the carefully handcrafted door frames, balconies and narrow streets. The narrow streets are littered with lovely little craft shops that selling wooden hand carvings of all sorts.

These would make lovely gift to take back home to your friends and family. Sometimes you can even ask if they can carve out something to your specification and you can pick it up later.
